Obviously no one wants to deal with a water damaged phone. They behave erratically and become unpredictable, but if treated quickly they can be saved. Water damage doesn't necessarily mean the end of your phone and all of your precious data. At The Phone Guys, we have ways of treating liquid damage, recovering data, and even resurrecting your phone from what seemed like certain death.

If you're dealing with liquid damage with your phone, here are a few tips to help maximize the possibility of saving it:
 

1. Power it off immediately! It might seem like it's working just fine, but any moisture inside the phone can cause more damage if there's a current running through the circuits.

2. Do not put the phone in rice. Rice will only absorb any moisture that would already evaporate on it's own. It can't do anything to absorb moisture trapped inside the phone. It will also likely get lodged in your charge port and headphone jack.

3. DO NOT PUT THE PHONE IN A MICROWAVE OR OVEN! Heat can damage your screen and other small plastic and rubber components in your phone like microphones and gaskets. Plus, metal in a microwave is a great way to start a fire

4. Do not use a hair dryer. This might seem counter-intuitive, but a hair dryer can produce enough heat to permanently burn and discolor your screen, so leave it to the professionals.

5. Get it into us ASAP! The earlier you bring in a phone that's been exposed to moisture, the better your chances are of being able to use it again.
